in situ quo *

mythomaniacal is a website to contain the writings of and biographical information on one Sara La Vie Earnest (who would be me, myself). it takes its name, in a tongue-in-cheek way, from the term mythomaniac, which is someone fond of telling outrageous stories. though i promise to tell only the truth.

i am a graduate student in the field of
computational astrophysics at George Washington University. i have one publication out here in the Journal for Undergraduate Research in Physics and Astronomy, detailing a project I worked on during the last two years of my time as an undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University.

i have another manuscript in preparation, with the PLAGA group lead by professor jorge cuadra at chile's Adolfo Ibanez University concerning populations of supermassive black hole (SMBH) binary candidates and their detectability with the event horizon telescope (EHT), which i will link when it comes out. in the past, i have worked at JHU within professor emanuele berti's numerical relativity group studying the detectability with next-gen gravitational wave detectors (i.e. LISA) of certain observable qualities of gravitational waves from binary black hole mergers. i've written a little about it here.

finally, i have various academic writings i am more or less fond of from my undergraduate courses in history and classics, and hope to use this as a space to post both them and any future essays i complete.

* if you are knowledgable about latin, you'll have caught that "in situ quo" is a nonsense splicing of "in situ" (on site) and "in statu quo" (in original state). this is a bertie wooster-ism, of p.g. wodehouse's Jeeves and Wooster fame!
